Tidy Towns 2018
Tallow Tidy Towns 2018
The tireless work undertaken by
the Tidy Towns Committee has again paid dividends this year. The adjudicators were impressed with the work
undertaken to date on the Alms houses and many businesses and premises were commended
for their continuing work to enhance their buildings. The planting of containers both in the square
and in the various green areas around the town drew praise from the
adjudicators who said they are looking forward to seeing the further planned
development of these areas next year.
A special word of thanks to all
who volunteered to litter pick over the summer months. The absence of litter
was noted and drew praise from the judges.
The residents of the various
housing estates were commended for their work keeping their own areas clean and
tidy, and for adding to the overall look of the area with colorful displays in
baskets and window boxes.
While the Tidy Towns were delighted with the
comments, there are still many ways in which Tallow can increase its scores in
the Tidy Towns Competition. Volunteers
are always welcome as there are many projects which need constant
attention. There is always room for
improvement and the Tidy Towns committee urge each and every resident in the
town, and especially those living on the main thoroughfare, to pay attention to the areas adjacent to their
premises, pick up litter, weeds etc. And
together we can make Tallow a town to be proud of and to welcome visitors too
in 2019.

Brideview Utd Schoolboy Notes
Brideview Utd AFC Schoolboy/Girl Notes
O'Brien Scores in Limerick
While the W.W.E.C league did not win the Kennedy Cup I'm sure local boy Jake O'Brien will remember it for the rest of his life as he scored a goal against Wicklow, well done Jake.
SFAI New Balance Kennedy Cup Results
Midlands 2 W.W.E.C 0
Limerick District 2 W.W.E.C 0
North Tipperary 0 W.W.E.C 0
Wicklow 1 W.W.E.C 1 Wicklow win 4-1 on the penalties
Longford 0 W.W.E.C 2
When one looks at the results there was very little between many of the leagues our boys played. So Jake and the boys can feel they did themselves proud both on and off the field. I'm sure this squad will now go on and play in The Subway Competition at U15 level. From all in Utd well done Jake.
Amber Service Station/Hilbilly's Fermoy U13 1st Division
Big win for United
Mogeely Rovers 1 Brideview Utd 5
A big win here for Utd as they finally wrap up their league programme. This game was as good as over at the break as we led 4-1. Goals from Josh Good, Jack McDonnell, Stephen Murphy and Harvey Hagon Lee saw us with a big lead at the break.
Our lads took the second half a bit on the easy side and Rovers did play better in this half. However Hagon Lee did grab his second and United's fifth to run out easy winners. The homeside did pull a goal back but it was never going to effect the result.
Utd: L. Tobin, J. Martin, T. Twohig, J. McDonnell, A. Hurley, C. McCarthy, C Bowes, S. Murphy, J Good, H. Hagon Lee C.Mc Grath.

Summer Camp

Ball Boys
The club will have one of our teams as ball boys in the R.S.C for the Waterford F.C versus Boho on Friday July 6th Boys will be notified shortly.
Pitch Closed
Our pitch is now closed until the summer camp.
Tallow Connection
John A Tobin's son Shane was centre half with the Cork Schoolboy League which won the Plate Final. John A.'s brothers Denis and Michael are still in Tallow. Shane plays his football with Corinthian boys and scored twice in the final. Well done Shane.

Castlebridge Celtic 3 Brideview Utd. 3
A six goal thriller here with the points shared. this result did not suit either side but the points helped the homeside to move off the bottom of the table.
We wer e2-1 down at the break, Ben Grey was on target for Utd in the opening half. The second half saw both sides go looking for all three points. Grey was again on target for Utd. and Billy Murphy also got on the scoresheet.
However it was not good enough to secure all three points and the game ended in a draw at 3-3.
Utds. Squad: A. Good, B. Murphy, H. Hagan Lee, B. Miguel, G. Hynes, S. Murphy, A. Murphy, T. Twohig, B. Grey.
